Russell John Martin and
Clyde Woodrow Martin

Russell Martin joined the Jackson Generals with his younger brother Clyde Martin in 1939. He played right field, hitting a double and driving in a run in his only game with the team.

Russell had signed a professional contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates a few years earlier, but suffered a broken leg before his first game with the club in Flint, Michigan.

He was posthumously inducted into the Southeast Missouri Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993.
